I understand what Wiseman means with regards to fantasy. You want to see something you cant see in real life, and you want to see it at its most beautiful. This is partly why RPG series's like Final Fantasy have been so successful, they have big budgets to throw at their graphics division to turn their concept art into something beautiful their players can interact with. Also, with a genre as slow-paced as an RPG, you can stop to soak in the atmosphere more easily than you would with, say, a fast paced platformer like Sonic Adventure.
Hence another reason why videogames are the ultimate artform, if done right anyway.
Right now, im reading Azumanga Daioh volume 2, whilst listening to a Mozart anthology.
